Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026 · Drift (com.drift.gg)
Drift (“we”, “us”) is a perception game app for iOS and Android. This policy describes what
data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Use of Drift is also governed by our
Terms of Use (EULA). Contact:
gsandreasyan@gmail.com.
1. Who we are
Data controller for the Drift app: the developer listed on the App Store / Google Play
listing. Backend services run on Google Firebase (project: driftgg-1bdf2).
2. Data we collect and store
2.1 Account & identity (Firebase Authentication)
- Anonymous play: a random Firebase user ID (no email required).
- Registered accounts: email and password, or sign-in via Apple / Google (we receive an account identifier from the provider, not your Apple/Google password).
- On device: your Firebase user ID is stored in the device secure keychain so you stay signed in.
2.2 Profile & gameplay (Cloud Firestore)
| Data | Purpose |
| Display name, optional @handle | Profile and leaderboards |
| Privacy setting (public / private) | Control profile visibility |
| Streak counts, games played, profile type | Streaks and profile stats |
Pro subscription status (isPro) | Remove ads and unlock Pro features (set by our server after store purchase verification) |
| Account creation date | Account management |
| Game scores: game, mode, difficulty, round scores, total, session duration, per-round drift metrics, daily-challenge date | Leaderboards, history, daily challenge integrity |
| Daily challenge seeds (per calendar day) | Same puzzles for all players that day |
| Handle reservations | Unique @handles |
Scores on leaderboards are immutable once submitted. Account deletion anonymises your profile to “[deleted]” and removes your handle; scores may remain on boards without personal identifiers.
2.3 Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
We log aggregated gameplay and product events. Event parameters intentionally exclude email, name, and other direct identifiers. Examples:
- App open (cold start)
- Game start, round complete, game complete, game abandon (game, mode, difficulty, scores, timing)
- Daily challenge played (game, score, streak count)
- Share tapped, challenge created, game unlocked
- Sign-in completed (provider type and whether you were previously anonymous — not your email)
- Paywall view, purchase start / success / failure (product ID only)
- Ad shown / ad failed (format and placement)
Firebase Analytics may also collect standard device/app metadata as described in Google’s Firebase Privacy documentation.
2.4 Crash & performance (Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance)
- Crashlytics: crash stack traces, device model, OS version, app version.
- Performance Monitoring: automated performance traces (e.g. screen load times).
2.5 Advertising (Google AdMob)
Free users may see banner and interstitial ads rated up to Teen (T) content. Google may collect device advertising identifiers and usage data per Google’s Privacy Policy. In the EEA/UK we request consent via Google’s User Messaging Platform before personalised ads. Pro subscribers do not see these ads.
2.6 Purchases (Apple, Google, RevenueCat)
Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate
receipts and manage the “Pro” entitlement. RevenueCat receives purchase history linked to
your Firebase user ID after you sign in or restore purchases. We do not store card numbers
or full payment credentials. Subscription management and cancellation happen in your Apple ID
or Google Play account settings.
2.7 Stored on your device only (secure local storage)
- Theme, sound, haptics, and reduce-motion preferences
- Onboarding progress
- Best scores, unlock progress, and recent activity (for fast offline UI)
- Scores waiting to upload when offline
- Timestamp of last in-app store review prompt
3. How we use data
- Operate games, daily challenges, leaderboards, and streaks
- Authenticate accounts and sync progress across sessions
- Verify Pro purchases and remove ads for subscribers
- Measure gameplay balance, fix crashes, and improve the app
- Show ads to non-Pro users (with consent where required)
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract: providing the game and account features you request
- Legitimate interests: analytics, security, anti-abuse, product improvement
- Consent: personalised advertising where required; optional sign-in providers
5. Sharing & processors
We use service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance, Hosting)
- Google AdMob
- RevenueCat
- Apple / Google (sign-in and in-app purchases)
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Retention
- Account and score data: kept while your account exists; profile fields anonymised on deletion
- Analytics: per Google Firebase default retention settings
- Crash logs: typically up to 90 days (Crashlytics defaults)
7. Your choices & rights
- Play anonymously without registering
- Private profile in Settings (hides public profile details)
- Delete account in Settings (registered accounts only)
- Ad consent via the system/UMP prompt (EEA/UK)
- Restore purchases via Settings → Restore purchases
- Manage subscriptions in Apple ID / Google Play account settings
- Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing gsandreasyan@gmail.com
8. Children
Drift is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. International transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards where required by law.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
